| General comments, problems encountered, special techniques or therapies used: |
Mare with history of retaining fluid but no pathogen on multiple cultures. Mare bred within 6hrs of ovulation. Oxytocin given every hour from 4-10 hours post insemination, and then continued every 4-6hrs for 3 days post ovulation. 24hrs post ovulation was given lavage with antibiotics in it. Started on regumate on day 4. Given deslorelin shot on day 9 post-insemination.
One straw of semen had very poor motility but the second straw quite good according to vet (did not give me %'s). |
